Celebrate Earth Day Early in Media

Media Borough Council Legislative Meeting Thursday, April 18th @ 8:00 pm Council Chambers 301 N. Jackson Street We know that Earth Day is always celebrated on April 22nd and this year it will fall on Monday, 4-22-19. But we are inviting Media residents to celebrate Earth Day a little early – and in a different manner – this year by attending the Media Borough Council meeting on Thursday evening, April 18th. Although most Americans now think of Earth Day as a day for a few hours of environmental volunteerism mixed with speeches, proclamations, and photo opportunities, Earth Day’s history is rooted in citizen action, advocacy, and assembly to demand that elected officials enact public policies to protect our nation’s air, land, and water.
So, we can’t think of a better way to celebrate Earth Day in Media, PA than by coming together on April 18th to urge Media Borough Council to enact public zoning policy to save the woods of Western Media.
Keep Media Green will be delivering 500+ signatures to Media Borough Council on April 18th calling on our local elected officials to rezone the 12-acre Broomall's tract from Residential to Recreational (Municipal, Educational, Recreational, and Community – MERC). Join Keep Media Green and celebrate Earth Day early this year. If you have not RSVP'd to say you are attending, please do so today.
Thank you!
