Open Space Survey Results

For over a year, Media Borough has been conducting an Open Space, Parks, and Recreation Planning Process. Part of the process, led by Ann Toole, CEO of Toole Recreation and her team of consultants, was a public survey.
796 people, including 573 residents of Media Borough (72% of respondents), responded to the Borough-sponsored online poll.
What did the people tell us?
Acquiring and protecting open space was their TOP priority
They want to spend MORE tax dollars on acquiring open space and maintaining parks
The number one reason they use parks is to enjoy nature
Delaware County’s Glen Providence Park is their most used recreational space
They want the Borough to build a free-standing bridge rather than reconstruct a dam at Third Street that would damage Glen Providence Park
They want to open Third Street between Media and Upper Providence for pedestrians and bicycles, NOT to automobiles
